website of the Selz Foundation Yaxuná Archaeology Project. Headquartered
at Southern Methodist University, the project conducts scientific research
in the ancient ruins of Yaxuná, a Maya city founded during the
Middle Preclassic era and destroyed by forces of Chichén Itzá
during the Terminal Classic. It is located 20 kilometers south of that
legendary imperial city.
