Lawrence
G. Desmond received
his Ph.D. in anthropology and archaeology from the University
of Colorado, Boulder, and has carried out research in Mesoamerica for
more than 30 years. He is currently working on a book about the 19th
century writer, photographer, and explorer Alice Dixon Le Plongeon, and
is a Senior Research Fellow in Archaeology with the Mesoamerican Archive
and Research Project at the Peabody
Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University, and a Research
Associate with the Department of Anthropology at the California
Academy of Sciences in San Francisco.
